Fresh Strawberry Pie

Jump to recipe!

Hi, Hoosier Homemade readers! I’m Chelsea, a fellow Hoosier blogger based out of Indianapolis, but I grew up in Liz’s neck of the woods. I blog over at Two Twenty One, where I share DIY projects, furniture makeovers, crafts, recipes, and home & seasonal decor ideas. I thought I’d stop by today and share one of my favorite summer recipes with you– my mom’s strawberry pie.

My mom has been making this pie for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my mom, aunt, grandma, cousins, and I would pick pounds upon pounds of strawberries, bring them home, and make strawberry jelly. My mom would make a strawberry pie or two with our freshly picked berries.

Please don’t judge me too harshly for using pre-made pie crusts. I’m a busy chick so I don’t have time to make pie crust from scratch. But to help disguise the aluminum pie tin, I drop the pie in a pretty pie dish. Your guests will most definitely find you out once you cut into the pie and uncover the shiny aluminum pie tin. But they’ll be so enamored with the delicious pie that they won’t notice that you didn’t make your crust from scratch.

I always share a printable 4×6 recipe card with my readers so it’s only fair that I share one with you. Click on the image to download the card.

Stop by Two Twenty One and say hi anytime

Thanks so much for having me, Liz!

I just made a strawberry pie and the glaze you recommend. It looks a bit opaque to me, but I’m please with my first attempt. It won’t be my last and I’ll share it with my friends here in South Africa.

  2. Wow! This pie is so good. Thanks for the recipe. I made one for my brother now I have to make one for my husband. It was a hit!

This is the pie I’ve been searching for. My mother always made it and I lost the recipe. Great memories of her pie baking…they were the best!

  4. Oh, that looks so good!
